Light-footed with options to suit every application

Vervaet has set the standard in slurry injection from the early-nineties and today it leads the European market for self-propelled application machinery. The Hydro Trike is particularly popular with over 600 examples working in European fields, contributing to high residual values and availability of factory-refurbished machines.

Two main models of Hydro Trike are produced – the standard three-wheel Hydro Trike and the higher-capacity five-wheel Hydro Trike XL with an additional axle which is available in standard form with three driven axles or as the 5×5 version with all-wheel-drive. All versions are exceptionally manoeuvrable being able to swing round on the headland and straight into the next pass.

Tyres & Manouverability

Tyre equipment is generous with a 1000mm wide front and 1050mm rears. Tyre pressures can be altered between field and road work on-the-move using the central tyre inflation system. On the XL and 5×5 the additional axle is extended so that each wheel follows a different track whilst in work maintaining an even ground pressure over the full 4.50m width without any overlap, making it very kind on soil structure. It also gives more stability when working on slopes. A steering axle to minimise scuffing, it also features adjustable hydraulic suspension providing a smooth ride. On the 5×5 version this mid-axle is driven by a self-contained 130hp hydraulic system.

Cab & Vervaet Connect

The latest luxurious Claas cab is fitted which provides exceptional comfort and visibility. Vervaet’s touchscreen computer takes care of the machine’s main functions such as controlling the application rate. It also displays useful machine statistics such as fuel usage and work rate. The Vervaet Connect telematics system is fitted as standard and makes a whole plethora of invaluable information from machine location to application maps and field-specific summaries available through the MyVervaet online portal.

Engine & Transmission

DAF engines have been used since the original Hydro Trike. The current machines are powered by a 12.9 litre engine with 530hp on tap at just 1400pm. Engine speed drops to just 1250rpm when full power isn’t required to save fuel. Infinitely variable hydromechanical drive within two ranges and provides an indispensable 40kph top speed. Two hydraulic pumps drive a mechanical rear axle and the front wheel’s hydraulic motor, and additional pumps provide auxiliary hydraulic power for the body. Excellent access to the engine makes maintenance straightforward.

Applications

Hydro Trikes are typically configured for slurry or solid manure application. But machines have also been kitted out as a beet chaser, lime spreader, sprayer, dumper truck and even as a timber forwarder.
